LAWRENCETOWN, Nova Scotia, May 18, 2012 – Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament for West Nova, today announced funding for the Annapolis Valley Exhibition, celebrating the local arts and culture of The Annapolis Valley.
“Our Government received a strong mandate from Canadians to invest in organizations that support local artists, like the Annapolis Valley Exhibition,” said Minister Moore. “By supporting this organization, our Government is delivering on its commitment to strengthen our economy and support our arts, culture, and heritage.”
“I am pleased to announce the Government of Canada’s continued support for the Annapolis Valley Exhibition,” said Greg Kerr, MP for West Nova. “The Exhibition highlights our shared cultural and Agricultural Heritage that we can all be proud of here in the Annapolis Valley.”
“The support of the Government of Canada is truly appreciated,” said Rachel Taylor, Manager of the Annapolis Valley Exhibition 2012. “This is the 86th edition of the Exhibition and we look forward to another great event this summer.”
The Annapolis Valley Exhibition has received funding of $9000.00 to help with the costs of running the Exhibition, which will take place from August 20th- 25th, 2012.
The Government of Canada created the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program in September 2007. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in local activities that present arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage. This program will benefit many community events and celebrations throughout Canada this year.
